Lake Powell

So I am finally blogging about our trip to Lake Powell that we took in May. I was 7 1/2 months pregnant so the only way I was going was if we got a Hotel or a house boat.... Brandan's family decided a house boat would be fun so thats what we did. I have never done the house boat thing and let me tell you, its definitely the way to go.
So this is the house boat of FUN!!!
The cove we spent the week in.
Addie, I don't think even got out of the water.
This was her "dream vacation"
Kate wasn't much of a fan of the water, after we went to Dangling Rope and saw all the carp she was not wanting to get in the water with the fishies. So she lizard hunted on the beach.

Here is one of the Lizards we caught.
Picture this.... Me 7 1/2 months pregnant scaling the shear walls of Lake Powell chasing after lizards.
Yeah... I fell a couple times but I caught those darn lizards.
Kate even got to drive!!!
All in all we had a great trip and it was a good vacation for us.

Kindergarten Graduation

Addie's cute Kindergarten class!
Addie had 2 speaking parts in the program and she spoke the loudest and clearest out of anyone.
Her parts were: " I am going to be a dancer, a graceful dancer, you know. I'll wear pretty costumes and dance in a Broadway show.
And
" We are all so grown up now, we're ready to decide, just what we'll be when we grow up a doctor, a teacher, a bride.

Addie and her teacher Ms. Baugh.
Addie we are so proud of you, you have been such a great student. You are such a good little reader and are always watching out for your friends.
Congratulations!!

Riding Lessons

A couple of months ago I asked Addie what she wanted to do more; sports, dance, or gymnastics. She said with total conviction " Mom, all I really want to do is ride horses!" I said ok well lets find you some riding lessons.
Little did I know riding lessons are hard to come by in St.George.
I finally found someone in Dammron Valley to teach her.
She loves it!!
Of course anyone who knows Addie knows that she has always had a thing for horses.
don't ask me where she got it from but its darn cute!!
She is learning fast.
She even got to ride the horse bare back which teaches great balance.
Kate used her charm and dimples of course to get a ride.
I think she loved it just as much as Addie.
I really don't know what I am in for.

Back yard camp out

Brandan and the girls have been wanting to go camping forever and I really didn't feel like tenting it somewhere when I am prego. So, we compromised and they had a camp out in the backyard.
They slept great out with Dad while I slept in my bed.
Good compromise... I would say!

Lady Bug, Lady Bug....

Addie and Kate added up their money and this is what they wanted to buy with it.
Lady Bugs.

Easter Time

Kate's favorite Easter Bunny gift was a tube of Chap Stick!!
Addie finally got her glitter ball from the Easter Bunny!!
She was so excited.
( if any of you know who actually made these $8 bouncy balls popular I would like to speak to them!)
Egg Hunting

Coloring eggs

We had a great Easter!

Soccer

Addie started soccer this season.
We were walking up to her first practice and I told her to run up there and she said "mom I hate running..." I thought to myself "oh boy we are in for a long season of the wrong sport."
But, she has really loved it and is good at it.
I have turned into one of 'those' parents.... I have already gotten a technical
Let me explain.... The girls are out there playing and fighting over the ball and a girl from the other team slaps one of our girls in the face and then steals the ball. That was it for me the REF wasn't watching. The entire game we were fouled and they were not penalized. So I go marching down there and say " REF! do you allow slapping in the face?" she rolled her eyes at me and didn't answer. So I say louder and with more force "Do you allow the girls to slap each other in the face?" She said "no" I say back " then you need to watch closer" and she yells " THATS A TECHNICAL!! ONE MORE AND YOU'RE OUTTA HERE" I started laughing and walked away. So I have turned out to be a very competitive parent, who would've thought :)

Its a BOY!!!

We did it! We finally did it !

I went in to have an ultra sound on the 12th of March. We took the girls. I was nervous the whole way there. In my heart I knew it was a boy but then I doubt got the best of me. I prepared myself for a girl the whole way there. Brandan would say " If its a boy I will know its not mine, I don't think I make boys" I would laugh and reassure him but doubt would settled in again. We finally got there and we all walk in and the radiologist was like " I know what you're hoping for" I said " we are here for good news....that the baby is healthy right.... "I was worried about that I had just watched something on dwarfism and was worried about that. I know weird huh? but all you moms out there know what it is like to worry right before a ultrasound.
Anyway we get in there and the guy is saying how everything looks normal; everything is measuring ok and then he is like lets find out what this baby is. My heart started beating fast and I tensed up. I really didn't want to have a break down if front of everyone. The the guy is like " here is one leg.... here is two legs.... my heart skipped.... and here is three legs. I said "no way" Brandan said " Are you sure" and Addie said" What three legs?....the baby has three legs!?" The radiologist said " This one is up to you Dad" Brandan then proceeded to tell Addie that that meant the baby had a wiener and then she said "eeewww a wiener?" We all had a good laugh and that released all the tension and worry I had. I enjoyed the rest of the Ultrasound and went shopping!!

Bunnies and Birthdays

This year Addie and Kate decided to have their Birthdays together so that they both could open their presents at the same time and no one would feel "left out"
(Which is great for me but I don't think it will last long)
Addie turned 6 on the 15th and Kate will turn 3 on the 25th.
They are getting so big and they really are the best of friends they get along...for the most part....really well.
Kate wanted a princess cake so this is what she picked out.
Addie of course wanted a horse cake so this is what she picked out.
This year Grandma and Grandpa wanted to get them a pet. Wendy asked to get them a bird and I said "NO" but I thought about getting them bunnies for Easter so I told her if she wanted to get them that we would be ok with it.
So here they are... This is Kate's his name is Jack or Jake or Jackson.
It really depends on the day.
We really don't know if its a boy but some old man at IFA said that it was so we went with it.
This one is Addie's and its name is Sally.

They really are cute.
And they are really good pets.  They don't whine at night.
Of course they are really little now so we will wait and see. Hopefully they will survive Kate. She doesn't really get the concept that the bunny in a live animal and not just a doll.
